Our TV Segment!

Just a very brief post to let anyone interested know that our TV segment, that was aired on Carte Blanche Medical on Monday night is now up on the show’s website.

It’s at this address and is in two parts. The first part has the drawing of the brain and pituitary gland as the link and is the part with our interview.  The second part has the urologist they interviewed as the link. Please go have a look if you’re interested…

Thanks for watching…

I will be back soon with proper blogging, for now still dealing with the cancelled cycle.  Now that the excitement of the TV show is over the reality that we should have been testing for IVF#2 today has hit hard.  Having terrible dreams and woke up in tears this morning.

  1. This is so amazing- thank you! I found your blog via Mash’s blog. Wonderful segment.

    Quick question- in the first part, why did he say that the doctors recommended you use donor eggs? Did he mess up and mean to say donor sperm, instead? It was a little confusing.

    YEAH!!! I’ve seen it! I thought it was good – a good balance of a real couple’s story and information, lots of emphasis that it’s a medical condition, included the forum, etc. And if that’s your house you were interviewed in I think it’s GORGEOUS. 🙂

    The only thing I think could be improved is why didn’t someone tell Dr Mutambirwa that this tie was asque? I found it strangely distracting (but that could be just me!).

    You both did wonderfully and it’s so nice to have faces to match you both with! I also agree that your house is gorgeous! Along with your accents 🙂

    Ah so sorry… Dammit, I so wish you were testing today and that the result would be the right one. Just try to focus on your POA. {big hug}

    Y’all did an amazing thing! You should be so proud of yourselves. It took alot of courage to do what you did, hopefully it will help all those couples out there who are in hiding realize IF isn’t something to be ashamed of.

    Thanks for posting this, and thanks for coming out and talking about this on TV. I don’t know that I would be as brave as you to do that, so congratulations! Kim

  7. Wow – way to promote issue-awareness on the subject. Thank you.

    Nicely done. I just finally had time to sit and watch the segment this afternoon. I am really impressed with you both for helping to put a “human face” on male infertility.

    The segment seemed to be well-done. I especially appreciated the point at the beginning that infertility problems are split 50-50 male/female. I think that point gets lost quite frequently. Especially since women have the more high-profile treatments — and even when the problem is male factor the female ends up doing some form of treatment most of the time and I suppose that the problem just ends up being assigned to her by default in the eyes of the public (she’s going through IVF = she has a problem, etc) further skewing the distribution.

    Anyway, great job!
