How can Eating Fix Queasiness?

So here is something that simply doesn’t make any sense to me at all.  How is it that eating eases the queasiness?

Actually I have been extremely fortunate, but I am also conscious that it is still early days.  Last week I had one day with  fairly bad queasiness, but I just split all my meals into more frequent smaller ones and seemed to get through just fine, since then I have been fine again.  An odd hour of that hurly tummy here and there, but it passes as soon as I eat.  I sat here this morning, thinking – here we go, here’s the morning sickness, ate my figs and a yogurt and it is all gone again!  Why does the eating help?

Speaking of early pregnancy symptoms, my (.)(.) are HUGE.  Yes, those of you that know me will be saying that this is not news or new.  Yes I have always had HUGE bo.obs, but seriously they have expanded even more.  I saw a friend on Friday night and the first thing she said to me is “your bo.obs have grown”.  Yes apparently it is that obvious.  I have been having some trouble sleeping at night because when I roll over, I seem to roll onto my very tender bo.obs.  So Saturday I broke down and went a bought a maternity bra to sleep in.  I also went to a shop that specialises in the bigger busted bra and tried on a few, but heavens they are just sooooo ugly.  For now my t-shirt bras at least have stretch and I will keep going with those until I am left with no option but those ugly bras.

So four more sleeps to that scan!  I am beside myself with excitement and can’t wait to see what we have on board.  All my positive cycle buddies, all those people who got a BFP with me have already had their scans.  All of them have already seen their heartbeats!  I am so jealous and it is taking all my willpower to not phone the clinic and demand a scan TODAY!  NOW! IMMEDIATELY!

Oh my I thought you were going today, especially went on my blog to see if you’ve updated…. I must’ve my dates crossed (obviously) with all the scans and pregnancies that have happened lately 🙂

With regards to the eating and queaziness – I read, somewhere, that the eating helps to keep your blood sugar levels in check. So your sugar doesn’t drop and make you queezy. So if you keep the blood sugar under control that should easy the nausea…… again just read it somewhere I could be totally wrong???

Only 4 more sleeps yippeee! Yes, only eating helps me too. Thank goodness the queasies haven’t gotten worse…just constant sort of queasiness really that only feels better while I am eating. Which means, I am eating a LOT. Also have the really tender boob problem and rolling on them is sore at night, but haven’t got a bra yet. Can’t wait for scan 2 tomorrow…hoping all good and we get to hear heartbeats xxxx

Aargh the 2nd 2ww agony… Try to break the 3 and half days left into bite sized chunks and time will pass albeit really slowly. What time is your scan on Friday?

Yes, I’ve also heard it’s blood sugar, which is also why we feel nauseous when hungover – blood sugar drops drastically after all the sugar in the alcohol – and why nothing helps quite as beautifully as a coke (for the hangover that is)! They say sweet grapes are great for morning sickness.

Looking forward to hearing about your scan xxx

Yep, PP are correct about keeping a constant blood sugar level– so glad that it’s just queasiness and not actual throwing up. A friend of mine referred to her new ta-tas as “po.rn star bo.obs”. Hopefully they’re as big as their going to get (at least until your milk comes in after birth) so you don’t have to resort to ugly bras… Can’t wait for scan day!!
